overview...

A modern but relaxed redesign of a Cirencester townhouse to make it extra family and party friendly, and better connected to the garden.

By knocking through the existing kitchen and dining room and resiting the kitchen to the front of the house, we could remove the back wall and create one big entertaining space that flowed into the garden via a solid oak deck.

Creating a laundry room in the old basement coalhole meant that the pressure was off in the kitchen, so we could indulge in plenty of sharp, straight lines and pleasing symmetry – but with trademark Von Bock & Yarrow artisan touches and antique furniture to soften the minimalist vibe.

Cabinets are totally bespoke, designed by Von Bock & Yarrow in painted birch ply with exposed edges, dovetail joints and custom drawer inserts.

Handmade porcelain lights and cast concrete worktops are by our good friend Anna Usbourne
